Design ConsultatION

I start every project with an in-home one (1) hour consultation at a time that is convenient for you.

After our initial phone conversation or online correspondence, I conduct an onsite design consultation.  This allows me to see your space and gather more information about your design needs. Often, this will include taking measurements, obtaining pictures, sharing ideas and collaborating with you on the design direction. This is a time for feedback on your design needs and your chance to ask questions.

During the consultation, we will discuss your:

  • design needs

  • tastes

  • style

  • your preferences

  • the overall scope of your project 

By the end of this meeting, I will recommend a plan that aligns with your design needs and that fits within your budget. We will determine our level of involvement and how to proceed.

Design consultation fee (1-hour): $100.00 (NOTE: the consultation fee is waived with a signed letter of agreement.)


FEE SCHEDULE OPTIONS

There are several fee schedule options after that, depending on the nature of your project and our level of involvement. We will work together to determine the best fee plan for your needs.   Below are some standard options.

1. FLAT RATE

This is a fee determined after evaluating your design needs, formulating a plan and working with your budget. A flat rate fee will be quoted for the services. Unless the scope of the project changes, I will not exceed that budget.

2. HOURLY RATE

This option allows you to pay on an hourly basis.  I will provide an estimate on how many hours I forsee the project taking.

Hourly Rate: $100.00 per hour (prorated in 30 minute increments)

3. ONE TIME FEE

A one-time fee may be used if you require a color consultation, space planning for one room, lighting or materials selection. This method is common in new construction, or remodeling projects where the client needs design guidance.

One Time Fee: $300 for up to three (3) hours. If more time is required, then each hour thereafter will be charged at a rate of $90.00 per hour. 


RETAINER (REQUIRED)

A 10% retainer is required to initiate work on the project. The retainer amount is based on the estimated total investment of the project. Retainers are applied to the final billing. Pre-payment is requested for all product purchases.

Separately, our Sales Order Policy requires 50% down on the purchase of all materials, furniture, fixtures and accessories prior to a sales order being placed.
